August brings many things to mind. Fresh berries, long days, and chilling by a body of water. But nothing describes the month better than one word: fleeting. As each long day passes and minute by minute gets shorter, everyone can feel the air begin to shift. With school on the horizon, and the chills of a new season creeping in, it’s hard not to focus on what comes next and stay present in the moment.
This August, The Lodge at Breckenridge had its fair share of reasons to stay present. With the beautiful weather Breckenridge was blessed with, we celebrated stunning weddings, hosted corporate groups, and welcomed many guests through our doors.
Kicking off the month was the Lumia wedding. Our sales staff had been working closely with them in the previous weeks. Traveling from Florida, the Lumia family hosted 50 guests, with pristine weather and a beautiful ceremony at The Lodge at Breckenridge. They made use of our ready room during the day and were all able to be here on the property. It’s easy to say congratulations to such a wonderful couple, and we hope to welcome them back one day.
The days carried on throughout the month, and between the meetings and phone calls, planning and preparation, The Lodge at Breckenridge had some fun as well! As we tried to soak in every last minute of the summer sun, we took dogs in residence to enjoy the running blue river creeks, tramp through the forest, and take in the warm air. During your stay, be sure to ask our front desk agents about their favorite trails and where to take your dogs! Even though the summer is winding down, there’s still much to enjoy as we slide into autumn.
Another Breckenridge highlight for the month – and the whole summer – is the Breck E-rides! We finally got the chance to try them out. For a simple price of $4, you can unlock one of these bikes and use them to get all around town—an eco-friendly way to explore Breckenridge during your stay! Be warned though, these aren’t your regular bikes; with the electric wiring, each pedal gives a turbo boost that can surprise if not prepared. You can take them on the Breckenridge bike path, down main street, around neighborhoods—anywhere in Breckenridge! Check out our TikTok highlighting them and don’t forget your helmet!
Closing the month out was the Bloom corporate group. Thanks to the great communication with their planner, the three-day event went off without a hitch. They hosted a trivia night in our foyer with the company Spark 4, had a panel event, and a board meeting in our ballroom. With three days of service, we received great reviews on our banquet staff. Thank you, Bloom, for choosing The Lodge at Breckenridge as your host for your corporate meeting!
As Labor Day passed, there seemed to be a direct correlation with Mother Nature. Suddenly, the mornings required a sweatshirt, the welcomed summer breeze became less inviting, and the sun became all the more craved. While we welcome the new season and all that it opens for us in Breckenridge (changing trees, Oktoberfest, Beer & bluegrass!), we wave goodbye to summer 2024 in the rearview mirror and thank it for all the memories and opportunities it brought The Lodge this year.
Thank you to everyone who chose us for your summer holidays, and we can’t wait to welcome you back for fall and winter! Keep an eye on our social media accounts for special deals, recommendations, and what’s going on here at The Lodge at Breckenridge.
