Chef Michaels

Executive Chef

Executive Chef Michael Cruickshank brings over 25 years of culinary experience to The Lodge at Breckenridge Resort. Born in Jamaica, his passion for food began in his grandmother’s kitchen, where he learned lifelong lessons about self-reliance, flavor, and cooking with heart.

Chef Michael’s style blends French, Italian, and American cuisine with a Jamaican twist, with a special love for grilling and braising. His signature jerk chicken with rice and beans reflects his roots, bold, comforting, and meant to be enjoyed by everyone.

Outside of the kitchen, he enjoys playing soccer and staying active, which mirrors the energy and teamwork he brings into his professional life. With decades of experience, a genuine love for people, and a passion for the culinary arts, Chef Michael strives to bring creativity, professionalism, and consistency to every plate and every guest experience.

Dagen

Director of Pet Relations

Dagen, our Director of Pet Relations, is The Lodge’s Chocolate Labrador Ambassador for all our Canine friends! We hope you meet Dagen while you’re here, as we are sure he would love a belly rub! Dagen loves playing in the snow and chasing the snow blower. He also enjoys hiking and taking plunges into cold, blue rivers. Best of all, he gives you those intriguing looks as if to say, “What’s next?”

Dagen looks forward to ensuring your canine companions have a tail-waggin’ stay and welcomes them to share their experiences at The Lodge at Breckenridge. Make sure to purchase a “Pup Claw” dog toy at the front desk to remind you and your furry friend of your great adventure here.
