Listen up, pups! Cool River Coffee House and Clint’s know how to treat us right: with homemade dog treats just for us! While we munch on something tasty, our humans can dig into their fresh-brewed coffee and famous granola. On sunny days, nothing beats chilling outside, taking in the mountain air, and watching the world go by, right by your human’s side, of course!
Time for some real adventure! Breckenridge has so many dog-friendly trails, and I’ve got a few favorites:
Bakers Tank and Juniata: These hikes are conveniently located right by The Lodge!
Sawmill Trail: An easy, family-friendly hike leading to a serene reservoir.
Moonstone and Sunbeam Trails: Accessible from Carter Park, these trails offer moderate terrain with rewarding views.
Peaks Trail: Starting near Cucumber Gulch, this trail provides a longer trek through diverse landscapes.
After all that hiking, let’s run free at Carter Park Dog Park! It’s fenced in, so we can let loose, meet some new furry friends, and really stretch our legs.
It’s a favorite spot among locals and visitors alike.
If you ask me, The Downhill Dog is the ultimate spot for pups in Breckenridge! From treats to adventure gear, they’ve got everything a dog needs—plus, half their goodies come from local Colorado businesses. Whether you’re gearing up for the trails or just getting spoiled (as you should be!), this Main Street gem has you covered.
Got mud? Animal Lover’s Pet Supply has two self-service dog wash stations available 7 days a week.
After a full day of adventure, it’s time to kick back while the humans refuel. Lucky for us, Breckenridge has dog-friendly patios where we can relax while they enjoy their food.
Kenosha Steakhouse: Famous for its steaks, burgers, and BBQ, this spot offers a dog-specific “pawtio” menu.
The Canteen Tap House and Tavern: Enjoy a variety of American dishes on their spacious, dog-friendly patio.
Broken Compass Brewing: If you’re in the mood for craft beer, this brewery welcomes dogs both indoors and on their patio.
Happy Hour, or should we say Yappy Hour, can be found at The Lodge at Breckenridge’s own Traverse Restaurant. That’s right, humans get to enjoy après with a view, and we get to relax right by their side on the Outdoor East Deck.
After a big day, there’s nothing better than curling up in our cozy pet-friendly room at The Lodge at Breckenridge. Maybe a belly rub or two before bed? Sounds like the perfect way to end the day.
So there you have it, my paw-approved guide to Breckenridge! Now, grab your leash and get ready for an unforgettable adventure. See you on the trails!
Resources for staying at The Lodge at Breckenridge with your dog.
In Colorado, picking up after your dog isn’t just courteous- it’s the law. Pet waste must be properly disposed of in public spaces, including trails, parks, and sidewalks. Failing to do so can result in fines, so be sure to pack enough waste bags for your adventures. Keeping Breckenridge clean ensures that everyone, humans and dogs alike, can continue to enjoy the stunning mountain scenery.
