Meet The Chef: Michael Cruickshank

Executive Chef Michael Cruickshank brings over 25 years of culinary experience to The Lodge at Breckenridge Resort. Born in Jamaica, his passion for food began in his grandmother’s kitchen, where he learned lifelong lessons about self-reliance, flavor, and cooking with heart.

Chef Michael’s style blends French, Italian, and American cuisine with a Jamaican twist, with a special love for grilling and braising. His signature jerk chicken with rice and beans reflects his roots—bold, comforting, and meant to be enjoyed by everyone.

Outside of the kitchen, he enjoys playing soccer and staying active, which mirrors the energy and teamwork he brings into his professional life. With decades of experience, a genuine love for people, and a passion for the culinary arts, Chef Michael strives to bring creativity, professionalism, and consistency to every plate and every guest experience.
